Today I have a very interesting product to showcase - Tim Holtz Distress Embossing Powder. What is so different about this embossing powder?

Now, let's see how to create some customized embellies & also how to stamp with it.

1. Get your stash of distress inks, embossing ink & distress embossing powders out.

2. Get some felt embellies (that you do not like the color) :)

Here's a few very important tips

+ SHAKE the distress embossing jar before use to evenly distribute the "release crystals"

+ After inking your embellies with embossing ink, IMMEDIATELY pour the distress powder on to it.

+ Next, IMMEDIATELY heat it with your heat tool.

3. When you heat the distress embossing powder, it will not be glossy as the usual embossing powders are. It will leave a matte finish.

4. After heated up, it's time to rub the "release crystals" off to reveal the color underneath, to get a textured finish and to achieve the distressed look.

Now, onto the stamping. Just follow the same steps above but here are some samples with different inks and distress embossing powder.

As you can see, different colored inks give different colors. And same inks with different distress embossing powders give different effects too!! How cool is that? And do you see the inks revealing from underneath? That's the effect of rubbing the "release crystals" off :)
